Chelsea, an alumnus of Cal Poly Pomona’s Environmental Design - Masters of Architecture program and the University of Illinois at Chicago - Bachelors of Architecture, is working towards her architecture licensure these days.
She has previously worked in Chicago on multiple hospitality and high-rise or high-profile commercial projects. Starting off renovating offices and building fenestrations, to multiple complete hotel makeovers, a terminal at O’Hare International Airport to a dispensary, she has carried her knowledge of ADA compliance standards and the rigor of the Chicago code to L.A. county, where a majority of her projects at ONYX include multi-family homes, primarily in Pasadena. When she breaks away from housing projects, she enjoys designing places where people come together like commercial shopping malls and community buildings.
Her hobbies consist of running, hiking, writing, sketching and brewing tea. When completing the 2015 Chicago Marathon, she realized that preparing for something so grand takes plenty of time and dedication, and it is important to ‘keep your eyes on the prize’ but also enjoy the process. Architecture is a process and a prize as well, and she thoroughly has enjoyed the last 7 years in the field of architecture.
