In 2012, ONYX was commissioned to help redesign the building’s interior and return the space closer to its original condition.
Updates were made to the lighting, kitchen appliances, and restrooms that also meet current accessibility requirements.
ONYX collaborated with the Pasadena Public Works Department, the La Casita Foundation, and the City of Pasadena Historic Preservation staff to develop a cohesive design approach.
The building holds significant importance to the community, having survived a devastating fire in the 1980s and several earthquakes.
